Morell Bridge Replacement

Work to replace the Morell Bridge will start today, Wednesday, June 23, with a target completion date of August 2022.  

A temporary bridge will be constructed adjacent to the existing bridge on Morell. Two-lane traffic will be maintained for all traffic on Rte 2 during the construction, with exception of a 5-6 week period when a single lane, controlled by traffic lights, will be required along the east approach. The temporary bridge will have a separate lane for pedestrians, cyclists, etc.

Motorists are advised to use caution entering and driving through the site.

  • Target temporary bridge open to 2 lanes all traffic:  end Sept 2021.
  • Target new bridge open to all traffic:  June 2022.
  • Target temporary bridge removal:  August 2022.
