QEH hemodialysis clinic reopening June 3
The hemodialysis clinic at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital is reopening after being recently closed due to bacterial cultures found in the water system.
Following a thorough investigation, the location of the contamination was identified and the entire system has undergone aggressive cleaning measures.
After two tests for bacteria culture came back negative, the hemodialysis clinic will resume treatments on Thursday, June 3.
As an added precaution weekly testing of the water will be conducted over the next month where a reassessment will be made to identify if the unit can return to routine monthly testing as outlined in the CSA standards.
