Queen Elizabeth Hospital Unit 7 declares COVID outbreak

Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s Unit 7 has declared a COVID-19 outbreak. 

Visitors on the unit are restricted to three partners-in-care for each patient, with only one partner-in-care present at a time. Visitor restrictions will remain in place until the outbreak is declared over.

The unit will be closed to new admissions, except in rare cases where an admission is required and it is safe to do so, such as COVID-positive patients or recently recovered COVID patients.

The public is reminded Health PEI continues to require people to wear a mask at all its hospitals, health centres, service areas and offices for the safety of patients and staff.
