Road widening taking place on Bunbury Road in Stratford

Widening and resurfacing work is underway on Route 21 (Bunbury Road) in Stratford, from the intersection of Duffy Road and John Joe Sark Drive east to Fort Augustus Road for a distance of two kilometres.

This project completes the paved shoulder connection between Mermaid, Mount Herbert and Stratford - improving safety for all road users.

Dates: 
Work is currently underway and is expected to finish by the end of October.

Traffic: 
Single-lane, alternating traffic will be in effect.

Safety: 

  • Traffic should reduce speed and be prepared to stop.
  • Plan ahead to reach your destination on time.
  • Reduce speed in the area.
  • Obey flaggers and signs.
  • Remember, speeding and using your phone while driving, even when you’re waiting in traffic, are against the law.
