Road work underway in eastern PEI

Two road construction projects are about to begin in eastern Prince Edward Island.

A section of Route 1, the Trans-Canada Highway, east of Stratford in Hazelbrook will be repaved. The construction zone starts just west of the intersection of Route 1 and the Jones Road and continues easterly along Route 1 for just under 3 kilometres.

Road work is also taking place on Route 6 in Millcove, north of Bedford Corner.

That construction starts just south of Route 6 and Route 229, Dougan Road, and continues southerly along Route 6 for 320 metres.

Delays can be expected in Millcove and Hazelbrook as traffic will be stop-and-go during construction hours.

Drivers are asked to slow down, obey signs and traffic control personnel, and be prepared to stop.

Construction starts June 5th and should be completed by June 21st.
