Temporary roundabout during Albany Y overpass replacement
As part of the Albany Y overpass replacement, a temporary roundabout has been constructed for all traffic.
Dates: Wednesday, June 4 until December 2025.
Traffic: All traffic entering the site will be diverted to the temporary roundabout. The Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) will be barricaded to all traffic, between the top of both ramps.
For vehicles using the temporary roundabout, there is a width restriction of 2.6 metres (8.5 feet) and a length restriction (trailers) of 17 metres (55 feet).
Follow the posted signs to navigate to your destination. Here is more information to help you prepare:
- Traffic on Route 1A entering from Middleton will continue on Route 1A, enter the roundabout, exit for either Borden-Carleton or Crapaud.
- Traffic on the TCH entering from Crapaud will be diverted to the far right and onto the existing off ramp (now converted to two-way traffic), enter the roundabout, exit for either Middleton or Borden-Carleton.
- Traffic on the TCH entering from Borden-Carleton will be diverted to the far left right and onto the existing off ramp (now converted to two-way traffic), enter the roundabout, exit for either Crapaud/Charlottetown or Middleton.
- Searletown Road will be locally barricaded at its end meeting the Borden-Carleton ramp. Motorists on Searletown Road will take Junction Road over to Route 1A.
Safety: Reduce speed in construction areas. Obey the flaggers and signs. Using your phone while driving, even when you’re waiting in traffic, and speeding are against the law.
