Calculate Supplemental Irrigation for Potato Production

The calculator below is intended to help farmers reduce the risk of over or under-irrigating potatoes in Prince Edward Island (PEI) by calculating the optimal moisture range and showing the Supplemental Irrigation Rate for optimal tuber yield and quantity. This depends on the soil's parameters and potato plant growth stage.

  • Select a Soil type and Growth stage.
  • Input the values for Current soil moisture, 7 day rainfall forecast in millimeters, and Nozzle efficiency.
  • Click "Calculate" to get a Supplemental Irrigation Rate.
