Overview of Credential Verification Registry
In order to support and facilitate the mobility of skilled trades workers in Canada through the Red Seal Program, the Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship (CCDA) is working collaboratively with provinces and territories to move toward online public registries of tradespeople to ensure ease of verifying certification.
This registry will help employers, contractors and homeowners confirm whether someone is certified to practice in a designated occupation under the Apprenticeship Trades and Qualification Act and Regulations.
Visit designated trades for more information on PEI's designated trades or contact us at apprenticeship@gov.pe.ca.
Prince Edward Island’s Credential Verification Registry can be used to verify certifications issued since 2006. Individuals certified prior to 2006 who wish to be added to the registry can contact our office at apprenticeship@gov.pe.ca.
This tool will verify:
- Trade in which the person is certified; and
- Certificate of Qualification and/or Red Seal
This tool will not verify:
- Certifications issued in another province or territory; and
- Location of the tradesperson
