OIDP: Specialized Equipment Subprogram
Applicants wishing to apply for 2017/2018 fiscal year should contact the Program Administrator.
The purpose of this subprogram is:
- To assist producers with implementation of pest management and soil fertility practices to improve efficiency and competitiveness on organic farms.
Who is eligible?
- Agricultural producers
What activities are eligible?
Purchase of equipment and technology, including transportation and set-up.
What equipment is funded?
- Portable grain cleaners
- Inter row cultivators
- Flame weeders
- Mechanical weed control
- Frost/ green manure seeders
- Compost turners and replacement parts
Equipment and/or technologies not on the list below will be reviewed and assessed for eligibility.
What expenses are not funded?
- In-kind materials and labour
- Non arms-length transactions
What funding assistance is available?
Eligible equipment costs up to 50% of the cost of the equipment to a maximum of $5,000 per project
How do I apply?
Complete the Specialized Equipment Application form addressing each area provides in the template.
Project submissions will be reviewed on an on-going basis. Projects will be accepted until funds are fully committed.
How do I claim?
Applicants must submit a claim form to the Prince Edward Island Department of Agriculture and Fisheries with invoices and proof of payment, project report and evaluation.
