OIDP: Specialized Equipment Subprogram

GF2 programs are now fully committed for the 2016/2017 fiscal year.

Applicants wishing to apply for 2017/2018 fiscal year should contact the Program Administrator.

The purpose of this subprogram is:

  • To assist producers with implementation of pest management and soil fertility practices to improve efficiency and competitiveness on organic farms.

Who is eligible?

  • Agricultural producers

What activities are eligible?

Purchase of equipment and technology, including transportation and set-up.

What equipment is funded?

  • Portable grain cleaners
  • Inter row cultivators
  • Flame weeders
  • Mechanical weed control
  • Frost/ green manure  seeders
  • Eco-weeders
  • Compost turners and replacement parts

Equipment and/or technologies not on the list below will be reviewed and assessed for eligibility.

What expenses are not funded?

  • In-kind materials and labour
  • Non arms-length transactions

What funding assistance is available?

Eligible equipment costs up to 50% of the cost of the equipment to a maximum of $5,000 per project

How do I apply?

Complete the Specialized Equipment Application form addressing each area provides in the template.  

Project submissions will be reviewed on an on-going basis. Projects will be accepted until funds are fully committed.

How do I claim?

Applicants must submit a claim form to the Prince Edward Island Department of Agriculture and Fisheries with invoices and proof of payment, project report and evaluation.
