We are working diligently to finalize programs under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership. There will be a further announcement on program details in the near future.

Important notice for those that had applications approved for the purchase and/or installation of a Generator under the Canadian Agricultural Partnerships’ On-Farm Electrical Interruption Program.

Approved applicants have until June 30th, 2023, to get claims submitted if challenges in securing generators were incurred due to supply chain issues.

The On-Farm Electrical Interruption Assistance Program will assist farms in the purchase and installation of a backup electrical generator required during the prolonged power outage caused by Fiona. The program will help farms overcome food safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare issues that occur during extended electrical power interruptions.

Who is eligible for funding?

  • Mi’kmaq First Nations and other Indigenous Organizations;
  • Agricultural producers;
  • Agriculture industry organizations, clubs, and associations;
  • Public and Private Institutions; 
  • Small to Medium Sized Agri-Businesses; and
  • Provincial/Territorial Governments.

What types of activities are eligible for funding?

  • New generator for on-farm use; and
  • Contractor fees for a licensed electrician to install generator for on-farm use

What is the deadline for applications?

To apply for the On-Farm Electrical Interruption Assistance Program, complete and submit the Application and all required supporting documentation. Late applications will not be accepted. Eligible project expenses will be recognized within the activity period stated in the below table.
