Department of Agriculture is seeking feedback for next agriculture policy framework

The PEI Department of Agriculture is preparing for the next cost-shared agreement between Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the provincial/territorial departments of agriculture. This agreement is referred to as the Next Policy Framework (or NPF).

The current cost-shared framework, called the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, will end on March 31, 2028. It is anticipated that the new agreement will launch on April 1, 2028.

Where can I provide feedback on priorities for the Next Policy Framework?

The Department of Agriculture has a survey to gather feedback on agricultural priorities for PEI. This is an opportunity for farmers, producers, agricultural commodity groups, Indigenous organizations, other groups associated with the agriculture sector, and members of the public to provide feedback.

It will take no more than 5 minutes to complete.

What is the deadline to complete the survey?

The survey will close on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
