2018 Municipal Orientation Session
The 2018 Municipal Orientation Session has been designed to create an opportunity for elected candidates to network with both new and experienced mayors and councillors. This session will help you gain some insight into the issues and subject matter many councils face.
When and Where is the Orientation Session?
The orientation session will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the North Shore Community Centre (2120 Covehead Road, Rte. #25, York, PEI C0A 1P0) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Who is hosting the Orientation Session?
The orientation session is hosted by Municipal Affairs and the Federation of Prince Edward Island Municipalities. The asset management presentation is offered through the Municipal Asset Management Program, which is delivered by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and funded by the Government of Canada.

Who is the keynote speaker?
The keynote speaker for this event is Christina Benty, MA. Christina Benty is the former Mayor of Golden, BC and along with her colleague Caleb Moss, has written The Joy of Governing.
Who can attend the session?
The session is designed for municipal council members (both newly elected and returning). Chief Administrative Officers and other appropriate staff are encouraged to attend.
What is the cost of the session?
The cost of this orientation session is $50 plus HST per person and includes valuable handout material.
