Liquefied Petroleum (LP) Gas Personnel License

Who needs a Liquefied Petroleum (LP) Gas Personnel License?

  • Any person who installs, alters, or services an LP gas appliance must hold a valid LP Gas Personnel License.
  • Any person who operates or drives an LP gas delivery vehicle must hold a valid LP Gas Personnel License.
  • Any person who operates a LP gas filling plant must hold a valid LP Gas Personnel License.

How do I obtain a LP Gas Personnel License?

You must complete an application and forward it, together with the appropriate fee, to the department.

Are there special requirements to get a LP Gas Personnel License?

Yes. You must have successfully completed an approved LP gas training program and you must be at least 18 years of age. Contact department staff to discuss additional requirements.

What is the cost?

The cost for a LP Gas Personnel License is $40.  There is no HST. Make cheques payable to the Minister of Finance.

For how long is a LP Gas Personnel License valid?

All licenses expire on December 31, 2016.

How long will it take to obtain a LP Gas Personnel License?

You should allow one week to process your application.
