Pesticide Purchase Permit

Anyone that wants to buy a commercial, restricted or agricultural class pesticide must first obtain a pesticide purchase permit

What are the requirements?

You must be 18 years of age to qualify for a pesticide purchase permit. In addition, you must:

  • hold a pesticide application business licence; or 
  • be an operator of an agricultural operation or golf course that employs at least one person who holds a pesticide applicator certificate. 

What are the fees?

$50 per year. There is no HST. Make cheques payable to the Minister of Finance.

When does a pesticide purchase permit expire?

This permit expires on December 31 of the year it was issued or once the business or operator no longer employs someone with a valid pesticide applicator certificate. This permit must be renewed each year.
