The Back to School Plan for 2020 impacts students, staff, parents and caregivers. The information in the following fact sheets is taken from the Public Schools Branch Guidelines for Return to School that provides the parameters needed for individual schools to plan for September 2020.

Keeping schools safe

Health measures are in place to limit the spread of COVID-19 and to help contain the virus if a student or staff becomes sick.

Enhanced cleaning measures

Students, staff and anyone visiting the school will be required to follow good hygiene practices.

The arrival and departure of students will be staggered. This may cause delays in transportation and at the beginning and/or the end of the school day.

Outbreak Management

The Department of Education and Lifelong Learning and Chief Public Health Office have developed an outbreak management process to ensure that roles and responsibilities are understood when there is a positive COVID-19 case identified in the school system.
