Fire Weather Index

The Domestic Burning Permit Application is now available online.

The Forests, Fish and Wildlife Division offices are still closed to the public at this time. To obtain an Industrial Burning Permit, please call your local forest district office and staff will make the necessary arrangements.

The Fire Weather Index (FWI) is updated daily during fire season (March 15 - November 30) on PEI. It is not available from December 1st to March 14th inclusive. During this period,

  • Domestic burning permits are not required
  • the daily Fire Weather Index site is not updated
  • the reporting phone numbers are not operational .
