Pesticide Loader / Mixer Certificate

Individuals who do not apply pesticides, but are directly involved with the mixing of a non-domestic pesticide must have a Pesticide Loader / Mixer Certificate. All pesticide loader / mixer certificates are issued by the Department. 

What are the requirements?

To obtain a Pesticide Loader / Mixer Certificate, you must:

  • be 18 years of age;
  • submit a completed Loader / Mixer Certificate Application Form; and
  • complete a suitable training program. Information regarding suitable training programs can be obtained from the Agricultural Information Desk: (902) 368-4145 or toll-free at 1-866 PEI FARM (734-3276).

What are the fees?

$50. There is no HST. Contact the Agriculture Information Desk for any fees associated with their training program. 

Payments may be made by cash, cheque or credit card. Make cheques payable to the Minister of Finance.

How do I renew my certificate?

A Pesticide Loader / Mixer Certificate is valid for a maximum period of five years. It can only be renewed by completing another suitable training program.
