The Department of Health & Wellness is currently seeking applications to the Community Care Facilities and Nursing Homes Board to establish a pool of applicants to fill future vacancies. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the health and wellness of fellow Islanders by ensuring the provision of care services in private facilities that are safe, of good quality and appropriate to the needs of residents in community care facilities and private nursing homes.
The Learning Partners Advisory Council is recruiting to fill membership vacancies. Candidates should be representative of PEI’s diversity, including demographics, region, and communities of interest. Individuals should bring a range of perspectives and ideas and a strong commitment to enhancing learning in PEI from birth to the senior years.
The Department of Health and Wellness is recruiting a layperson to fill a vacancy on the PEI Funeral Services and Professions Board. The candidate must be an individual who has never provided funeral services, performed embalming or operated a funeral home, embalming facility or transfer service. Familiarity with regulatory matters and processes and the funeral sector would be assets.
The Department of Family and Human Services is currently seeking applications to the Poverty Reduction Council. Candidates will help oversee the implementation of the Poverty Reduction Action Plan. The Council will bring a diverse range of knowledge, experience, expertise and executive leadership related to implementing solutions to complex issues.
The Provincial Apprenticeship Board has three (3) vacancies that need to be filled as soon as possible, as follows: chairperson and two (2) employee representatives. Members are appointed for a three-year term, with the possibility of reinstatement for another three years. The Board meets a minimum of three times a year with additional meetings as required. Previous involvement with trades and/or the apprenticeship program would be an asset. It is preferred that members also hold a certificate of qualification with Red Seal endorsement.
The Social Assistance Appeal Board is recruiting to fill a vacancy. Appointments will begin January 2019 and run for two three-year consecutive terms. Relevant experience in human services would be an asset. Applications are being accepted until midnight on December 31, 2018.
The Worker’s Compensation Board will have two vacancies in early 2019; one worker representative and one employer representative.
- have experience with or be willing to acquire a working knowledge of the Workers Compensation Act and Regulations as well as Workers Compensation Board policies;
- have the ability to read and understand written materials that involve complex medical and legal issues;
- have access to reliable transportation and be able to travel to Charlottetown and/or Summerside for hearings;
- have excellent computer skills (ie: email, word processing, etc.) and access to a computer.
