COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund for Sport Organizations
The Federal Government announced funding for a COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund for Cultural, Heritage and Sport Organizations. The sport part of this funding for provincial and territorial organizations will be provided through the Sport Participation Bilateral and managed by the Province of PEI.
What is the Funding For?
The COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund for Sport Organizations is meant to be temporary relief to support continuity of operations for organizations whose viability has been negatively impacted by COVID-19, maintain jobs, enable organizations to continue contributing to the sport sector now and into the future and generally stabilize the sector. Two components of the fund are:
1. COVID-19 Emergency Fund for Provincial Sport Organizations (PSO) and Multi Sport Organizations (MSO)
2. COVID-19 Emergency Fund for Local Sport Organizations
Who is Eligible to Apply?
For the COVID Emergency Fund for PSO's and MSO's, all PSO and MSO's that are in good standing with the Province of PEI, Department of Health and Wellness are eligible to apply for support. There are two streams of funding they are eligible for, direct funding and application based funding.
For the COVID Emergency Fund for Local Sport Organizations, all local sport organizations (the PSO's member clubs and associations) who are members in good standing with their provincial sport organization are eligible to apply.
