COVID-19 Enforcement

The Chief Public Health Officer is authorized to issue orders under the Public Health Act as needed, such as fines to anyone who is not complying with the direction to self-isolate.

Report a Complaint

Call 1-800-958-6400 if you have concerns that someone you know is not following the self-isolation or work-isolation rules or have general questions about COVID-19.

Complaints and Public Health Violations

Police agencies, conservation officers and highway safety officials are working across Prince Edward Island to ensure all residents and visitors to the province are in compliance with current public health orders.

Fines

Charges related to public health violations can result in fines of at least $1,000 for individuals or $5,000 for businesses.

Anyone charged for a public health violation can choose to pay the fine directly. If anyone wishes to contest their fine, they will have to have their matter heard with the court.
