Moving Forward Step 5

In response to evolving data around the Delta variant, the emergence of a fourth wave of COVID-19 and rising case counts in PEI and Canada, PEI’s Moving Forward plan is currently remaining at Step 4.
The situation will continue to be monitored, and there will be a further update by the end of September, 2021. Screening and testing at the points of entry and isolation measures for travelers arriving in PEI who are not vaccinated will remain in place until at least mid October.

  • The level of disease is low and transmission is controlled within PEI, Atlantic provinces, and Canada.
  • High level of full vaccination among eligible PEI residents

Education and Child Care

  • Full-time classroom learning in K-12, with the possibility of targeted cohorting based on vaccination
  • Full-time classroom learning in post-secondary, possibly based on vaccination, with online learning options
  • Licensed and unlicensed child care centres at 100% capacity

Long Term Care

  • Unrestricted visitation if vaccination threshold is maintained

Travel-Related Public Health Measures

Travel Guidance

  • Consider travel risks carefully and avoid travel to areas with a high incidence of COVID-19

Travel Isolation and Testing

  • No pre-travel approval or travel streams
  • Some isolation and testing measures recommended for unvaccinated and partially-vaccinated travellers
  • International travel dependent on federal measures

  • No border screening
