Community Hospital O'Leary has 13 extended care beds for restorative, respite, convalescent and palliative care.

What if I need emergency care?
If you or someone in your care has an urgent medical condition or is experiencing a health crisis, go to the nearest Emergency Department or call 9-1-1.
Emergency services are offered at the following hospitals:
- Queen Elizabeth Hospital (24 hours/day)
- Prince County Hospital (24 hours/day)
- Kings County Memorial Hospital (Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
- Western Hospital (8 a.m. to 8 p.m./ seven days a week)
What medical services can I access?
Community Hospital O’Leary provides laboratory, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, physiotherapy and nutrition counselling.
Visiting consultants offer clinics in geriatrics and psychiatry.
When can I visit a patient?
Family/partners in care can visit patients at any time as decided by the patient and in coordination with the health care team. Visitors can call the front desk or switchboard, or check with a health care provider before visiting a patient. Learn more about Family Presence and what you should know before visiting a patient.
How can I donate?
The O’Leary Community Health Foundation and Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary are groups of community volunteers who fundraise, collect and utilize funds to benefit the health of residents in Western Prince Edward Island. Donations are used to purchase necessary medical equipment and resources to support and improve patient care and comfort. To make a donation, call, email or write to:
