Custom Seating for Mobility Impairment

If you or your child require modifications to existing specialized equipment or need a new recommendation/prescription for a mobility device such as a wheelchair or specialized stroller, you can request an appointment at the Seating Clinic. Specialists will assess your equipment and adjust to meet your needs.

What does the Seating Clinic offer?

The clinic is offered every Tuesday at the QEH Physical Medicine department for services such as:

  • Seating assessment and prescription
  • Wheelchair fittings
  • Custom seating inserts
  • Standing frames
  • Specialized stroller systems
  • Specialized bath seats
  • Equipment for school-aged children (eg. walkers, adapted school chairs, desks)

How can I get an appointment at the Seating Clinic?

You can call (902) 894-2062 to self refer or your health care provider can submit a referral form to the QEH Physical Medicine Department.   

Someone will contact you to arrange an appointment.
