Mental Health and Addictions Open Access Counselling
Get mental health and addiction support when you need it.
At Open Access Counselling you can speak with a mental health or addictions counsellor. No appointment or referral is required. Simply drop in during the hours listed below.
Sessions last up to 60 minutes. There may be a small wait when you arrive, but you will be connected with a counsellor as soon as possible.
What to expect
- Client-centered approach: Your session focuses on your concerns and needs at the time. You are in control, guiding the appointment towards what matters most to you.
- Collaborative goal setting: You work with a clinician to set clear goals for the session and beyond, focusing on achievable steps for your wellness journey.
- Strengths-based approach: We build on your strengths and what has worked well for you in the past, supporting your recovery in a positive and empowering way.
- Exploration and planning: We will work together to identify resources, strengths and strategies to help you move forward and continue to feel supported outside of the session.
- Evidence-based support: Open Access is grounded in evidence-based practices, meaning the intervention provided is supported by research and shown to be effective.
- Flexibility: You do not need to commit to attending a certain number of sessions. You get to decide when and how often you access support.
Further assessment, use of different approaches to therapy, or referral to a specific service can be carried out if you and your clinician agree they are necessary.
