Volunteer with Health PEI

Hubert McIsaac, Volunteer at Beach Grove Home

Volunteers help build strong communities

Volunteers complement the care provided by professional staff. Every day volunteers across Prince Edward Island contribute to the well-being and comfort of patients, clients and residents.

Why should I become a volunteer?

You can volunteer with Health PEI to:

  • make a positive difference in someone’s life
  • network/make connections with other volunteers and health care professionals
  • obtain experience for future employment or educational plans
  • build new skills and help strengthen the community
  • learn more about the health care system

Where can I volunteer?

There are many volunteer opportunities available in hospitals (acute care) and in nursing homes and manors (long-term care) across the province:

Nursing homes and manors

You can also volunteer as a patient- and family-centered care partner on one of Health PEI's many committees. To learn more and how to apply, visit Health PEI Volunteer Patient and Family Partners.
