Should I go to a walk-in clinic? 

Walk-in clinics provide non-urgent care at locations across the province.

• If you’re sick, call your family doctor or nurse practitioner (primary care provider) first. 
• If you don't have a family doctor, visit a walk-in clinic nearest you or if you're registered for virtual healthcare, book an appointment online with Maple.
• If you need mental health support, visit a Mental Health Walk-in Clinic.
• If you need sexual health, pregnancy, or reproductive services, visit Sexual Health, Options, and Reproductive Services. 

Your local pharmacist can also assess, prescribe treatments and renew prescriptions for many common ailments without an appointment. Learn more.

Where can I find a walk-in clinic?

Walk-in clinics are offered by Health PEI and by private operators. Clinics serve patients on a first-come, first-serve basis. Clinics may close early when the maximum patient capacity has been reached, or if there are no patients waiting to be seen.

What should I bring with me to a walk-in clinic?

Bring:

• Your PEI Health Card or Provincial Health Card (if visiting from another province).
• An up-to-date list of your medications including how much, how often and why you are taking each one. It is also important to note whether or not you have medication allergies.
  • Take all medications with you (in their original container) - pills, inhalers, eye drops, patches, injections, and creams.
• Include any over-the-counter products you use, such as vitamins and herbal products.

How can I get a family doctor in PEI? 

If you don’t have a family doctor or nurse practitioner, you can join a wait list to be assigned one. This wait list is called the Provincial Patient Registry. Once you are on this wait list, you will be invited to join Maple to access free virtual health care services online.
