PEI Home Heating Program

The Home Heating Program provides financial assistance to eligible low-income households that need help paying home heating costs.
Beginning November 1, 2026, Islanders can apply:
- In person at any Access PEI location
- Online through the Access PEI website
Until October 31, 2026, applications will be accepted through the Salvation Army.
Note: If you received assistance in 2026, you can apply again starting January 1, 2027.
Am I eligible?
You may qualify for up to $1,200 a year if you:
- Are a resident of Prince Edward Island experiencing financial hardship related to home heating costs
- Are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Are not receiving PEI Social Assistance
- Pay your own heating bill and the bill is in your name
- Live in a single-adult household with an annual income of $45,000 or less
- Live in a family household with a combined annual income of $60,000 or less
Gross Income is based on line 15000 of your Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Notice of Assessment.
