Poverty Elimination Strategy

The Provincial Government wants to hear from PEI residents to help inform the next five-year Poverty Elimination Strategy. 

The Strategy will be developed in partnership with the Poverty Elimination Council, and will replace the Poverty Reduction Action Plan (2018).  

The consulting firm MQO Research was selected through a competition process to lead public and stakeholder engagement processes.  

What am I being asked to share feedback on?

PEI residents are being asked to share their thoughts on important issues related to poverty, food insecurity and homelessness.

How can I share my input for the new Poverty Elimination Strategy?

There are several ways that you can provide input into the Poverty Elimination Strategy: 

  • Complete the survey
  • Call 1-866-501-8207 (toll-free) and leave a detailed voicemail with your input
  • Mail a written submission to:

All feedback and submissions will be accepted until February 24, 2025.  

How will my feedback be used?

All feedback will be considered in the development of the five-year Poverty Elimination Strategy. Any submitted information will be de-identified to ensure that all participants can remain anonymous.
