Drivers Licence Fees

The Government of Prince Edward Island is returning the federal carbon levy to Islanders beginning January 1, 2019. As a result, transit fees and vehicle registration fees have been reduced, a PEI driver's licence is now free, and electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles can be registered at no charge. For details on these changes, visit saving you money while helping the environment.

Any driver who has a licence refunded after January 1, 2019 is not eligible for the free driver`s license with the five-year expiry until the expiry date of the refunded period of time.
