Since 2018, the province and the Government of Canada have invested $95 million to install 45,000 heat pumps.
Free Heat Pumps
Applications for free heat pumps and the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program are closed.
Right now, many Island households are in line for one.
Contractors are working on installations and will contact you as soon as they can.
Rebates for Heat Pumps
On April 15, 2026, heat pump rebates ended.
If you purchased a heat pump between April 15, 2025, and April 15, 2026, apply online for a rebate.
Rebates are only available for one year after purchase.
If you run a farm or business, you may qualify for these programs:

- Strategic Energy Solutions
