Provincial Infrastructure Fund

The Prince Edward Island Government announced the Provincial Infrastructure Fund (PIF) to offset the impact of the HST on Island municipalities.

The $1.8 million Provincial Infrastructure Fund is intended to provide for the investment in municipal capital infrastructure projects. The Province recognizes the need for further funding for infrastructure to ensure our infrastructure deficit is addressed. The program invests in modern infrastructure that encourages sustainability for Island municipalities. The PIF has been established to enable municipal governments to apply for infrastructure funding to off-set municipal HST costs. The fund is intended for new essential capital municipal infrastructure initiatives.
