Domestic Violence, Intimate Partner or Sexual Violence Leave
Employees who have worked for the same employer for at least three months can take up to three paid days and up to seven unpaid days of leave for domestic violence, intimate partner violence or sexual violence. The leave must be taken within a 12-month period. Employees can choose to take the leave one day at a time or all at once. The regulations explain why this leave can be taken, how it is calculated, how employee information must be kept private, and when an employer can ask for written proof from certain approved people.
