Jobs for Youth Program

This program offers wage support for employers to create employment for Island students. Your organization or business may be eligible for full or partial wage subsidy to offset the costs of hiring employees.

Is my organization eligible for funding?

Non-profit organizations, incorporated municipalities, private businesses and the public sector may apply for funding.

How old do I have to be to apply for a Jobs for Youth position?

If you are a young person interested in Jobs for Youth employment opportunity, you must:

  • be an active student returning to school in the next school year,
  • have completed grade 10; and
  • be 16 to 29 years of age.

You must complete and submit the Student Employment Application form. Contact our office for more information.

When is the deadline for applications?

Employers must submit their applications on or before April 28th.  (Applications will be available in March and April).

What do I need to apply to the Jobs for Youth Program? 

Print and complete the Jobs for Youth Program application form and submit to the address below or complete the application online. Include the following information on your application:

  •  Revenue Canada account number
  •  Workers Compensation Board account number
  •  Business Name Registry number
