Minimum Wage Review 2026

Published date: September 8, 2026

The Employment Standards Board is inviting Islanders to provide feedback as part of its annual review of the minimum wage.

Under the Employment Standards Act, the board reviews the minimum wage each year and recommends future rates to government based on economic conditions and feedback from the public and stakeholders.

Prince Edward Island's minimum wage is currently $17.00 per hour and is scheduled to increase to $17.30 on October 1, 2026, and to $17.60 on April 1, 2027.

The annual review will consider future minimum wage rates beyond the increases already announced.
