Changes to senior management team announced
Changes were announced today to the senior management team of government.
Neil Stewart has been named deputy minister of Finance, effective September 15. Prior to this appointment, he served as deputy minister of Workforce and Advanced Learning, and previously as deputy minister of Economic Development and Tourism.
David Arsenault, who currently serves as deputy minister of Finance, has indicated his intention to retire in the near future. In the meantime he will stay on in a part-time role to provide continuity and guidance during the transition.
Based on the recommendation of the board of the Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission, Andrew MacMillan has been confirmed as CEO. He has been serving in an acting CEO role since March 2015.
“A professional and dedicated public service works to advance the priorities of Islanders,” said Premier Wade MacLauchlan. “The senior leadership team will help ensure we are working to create prosperity for all of Prince Edward Island. I thank David for his service, his expertise, and his commitment to ensure a smooth transition in this important portfolio.”
