Electronic ticketing available in Prince Edward Island

Island law enforcement officers can now use electronic ticketing technology for their day-to-day operations. 

Electronic ticketing, or e-tickets, allows the RCMP, Charlottetown, Kensington and Summerside Police Services to reduce data entry errors and time spent on roadside activities, and will improve officer safety.

“I’m pleased to see Island police forces can now start issuing e-tickets on Prince Edward Island. It’s a faster, more efficient way to do their jobs. The less time they spend on the side of the road writing up the ticket means less risk of them getting hurt too.”

All Island police forces are training their respective staff and are ensuring the necessary equipment is in place to implement e-ticketing in their daily operations. All agencies may also continue using paper-based tickets.
