Artists from various disciplines across Prince Edward Island will receive government grants to pursue their craft and enrich the province’s cultural life.

For a complete list of grant recipients, visit Arts Grants. A total of $100,000 was awarded to 32 projects by established and emerging artists in film and media arts, music, theatre, crafts, visual arts, interdisciplinary arts, writing and publishing.

“Arts and culture in our province is led by a passionate community of talented Islanders. Government is pleased to support artists as they continue to make PEI a vibrant and creative place for all to enjoy,” Education, Early Learning and Culture Minister Doug Currie said. “Congratulations to all artists, we look forward to celebrating the work you create.”

Grant winners were selected by a 12-member jury of their arts community peers from 89 applicants. The process is modelled on the practice followed by the Canada Council of Arts.

The department acknowledges the great interest in the grants by artists and the thoughtful consideration of the jurors. The next round of funding for arts grants is expected to begin this spring.
