New Riverview Manor opens in Montague
Residents, family and staff celebrated the grand opening of the new Riverview Manor in Montague today.
The new home includes 48 private long-term care rooms grouped into small households with bright, spacious common areas for meals, entertainment and games. Large windows and open hallways have views of nearby playgrounds, sports fields and streets.
“Island seniors are the foundation of our communities and I’m thrilled to see this beautiful new home ready for residents to live in and enjoy,” said Premier King. “The new Riverview Manor provides the comfort, social connections and support that seniors need and deserve, close to family and friends.”
The new manor is designed to provide the utmost comfort in a spacious, home-like atmosphere for seniors in the Montague and surrounding areas.
“It’s beautiful. I have so much room. I might get lost,” joked resident Theresa Martin from St. Mary’s Road.
The $15 million facility replaces the former Riverview Manor located on Rosedale Road in Montague.
Residents and staff moved into the new home June 26.
“It’s important to provide high-quality, personalized care at every stage of life,” said Health and Wellness Minister James Aylward. “I know that many seniors want to stay in their home for as long as possible, but if you require the supports of long-term care, this amazing new home provides a comfortable, safe and caring place to call home.”
