Officials investigating discovery of dead fish

Government officials have confirmed a report of dead fish discovered in Hyde Creek in Cornwall late yesterday (October 10).

The discovery was reported to the Cornwall and Area Watershed Group. Staff from the departments of Justice and Public Safety and Communities, Land and Environment confirmed the report yesterday upon visiting the site.

Staff from Environment and Climate Change Canada will join provincial staff on site this afternoon (October 11).  Water, soil, vegetation, and fish samples are being collected to be sent for testing.
