What do I need to hunt on PEI? In order to hunt legally on PEI, you must have a valid hunting license and the Wildlife Conservation Fund fee. Non-profit organizations holding an event as part of Acadian Heritage Month may be eligible for a grant of up to $3,500 to support their event. The Acadian Heritage Month Fund offers grants for events that promote PEI’s Acadian heritage during Acadian Heritage Month (the month of August). What are the fees for the fishing licence? Fees vary. Find a list of current fees at Angling Resources and Information Centre. Angling licences include the Wildlife Conservation Fund (WCF) fee. Effective March 31, 2026, the PEI Broadband Fund for Residents program will be paused and not accepting any new applications. Previous applications and claims submitted prior to March 31, 2026 will be processed. Buy a Hunting Licence Online

It is illegal to hunt or snare wildlife in PEI without a valid hunting licence. PEI hunting licence applications are available for the current season starting September 1st. To hunt migratory birds such as Canada geese and black ducks, you must also hold a current federal Migratory Game Bird Hunting Permit.
