Apply to the Government of PEI Case Team Program

The provincial government has re-launched a Case Team Program to hire post-secondary students to address current organizational issues brought forward by PEI government departments and agencies, private businesses and non-profit organizations. 

Organizations are invited to apply for problem-solving assistance with issues involving, but not limited to, marketing, human resources, operations, or strategy. Students may apply to be a Case Team Member or a Case Team Coordinator, or both positions. While in the program they will work on case teams to offer evidence-based solutions to clients. How will the Case Team Program work?

Multi-disciplinary case teams, each comprised of five post-secondary students, will spend two weeks working with an identified client to analyze the organization and its issue or concern, research industry trends and best practices, and develop evidence-based solutions. At the end of the two-week period, the team will present its findings and recommendations to their client in a professional report and oral presentation. 

Organizations are required to:

  • Be available to meet with case teams regularly during the two-week period;
  • Have professional staff who can provide guidance and feedback; and
  • Commit to providing an evaluation after the case team’s final presentation. 

Primarily, students will work virtually but are required to meet as a group for at least one hour per day. A Case Team Coordinator will be available to provide advice and guidance to the teams. Students will gain valuable experience with presentation and communication, teamwork and collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. In addition, they will participate in professional development activities throughout the summer that further their educational and career goals.

What do I need to apply for this program?

Students: To be considered for a position on the PEI Case Team you must:

  • Have attended a post-secondary institution full-time in the current year and intend to return to full-time studies;
  • Are a resident of PEI and legally authorized to work in Canada. 
  • Are a resident of PEI and legally authorized to work in Canada, including international students with work visas.

Organizations: To be eligible for PEI Case Team services, organizations must be registered as a:

When is the deadline to apply? 

Organizations deadline to apply for our summer program was May 31, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. We invite organizations to apply even though the deadline has since passed. We will keep all submissions on file and consider them for future programs.
