License a Collector in PEI

Any collection agency operating in Prince Edward Island must ensure each collector is registered to collect in the province. The PEI collector’s licence must be renewed every two years and cannot be transferred to another agency. Apply for new  collector licences or licence renewals using the online form below.

What do I need to apply online?

Each application may require the following information:

  • Collection agency contact information and licence number
  • Detailed information about each collector you are licensing such as:
    • Name including aliases
    • Previous collection agency experience (include agency name)
    • Any convictions 
    • Previous licensing issues, i.e. licence refused
    • Complete payment 

How long will it take to complete this application?

Depending on the number of collectors you are licensing, the form can be completed in less than 25 minutes. Each form can be used to register up to five collectors. 

What is the fee for a collector’s licence?

The non-refundable fee is $50.00 per licence.

How long will it take to process this request?

As soon as your payment is verified, each individual is considered licensed in PEI. Within 2-3 business days, licences will be emailed in PDF format to the address provided on the form. Please print and keep as collection agency records.

Additional information

Please note: A collector who moves from one agency to another is required to get a new licence.
