The Oyster Relief Wage Assistance Program will help offset a portion of payroll costs associated with increased sorting and handling requirements. The intention of the program is to provide some relief through financial support to help keep employees working during this challenging time.
Oyster Advisory Committee
An Oyster Advisory Committee has been created to help guide the program.
This group will provide advice on how the program is designed and how the available funding ($1,461,000) is distributed. The goal is to make sure the program meets the most important needs of the industry.
The committee includes representation from:
- PEI Aquaculture Alliance
- PEI Seafood Processors Association
- PEI Oyster Processors Association
- PEI Shellfish Association
