Re-apply for the High Cost Drug Program
If you have received assistance paying for medication through the High Cost Drug Program in the past 12 months, you can reapply online to have your coverage continued through this program.
First time applicants need to fill out the High Cost Drug Program application form and return it by fax, mail or email to PEI Pharmacare at the contact information below.
Am I eligible to re-apply?
If you have received benefits through this program in the past 12 months, you can re-apply to continue receiving benefits if you:
- are a permanent PEI resident as defined by the Drug Cost Assistance Act;
- have a PEI Health Card;
- have filed your most recent income tax return in PEI.
How much of the medication cost will be covered?
Your cost of the medication will depend on your household income. You must also pay a pharmacy professional fee, which may vary with each pharmacy.
What if I move away from PEI?
Your eligibility for this program will end the day you leave PEI to take up residency elsewhere.
