Request a Summer Nursing Student for a Health Care Facility

Applications open February 4 til March 8, 2019.

Health care facilities across the Island offer summer employment opportunities for nursing students to work in the public health care sector and fully licensed private nursing homes.

Is my health care facility eligible to apply?

A public health care facility or a fully licensed private nursing home that can provide a summer employment opportunity for one or more nursing students to gain meaningful work experience that will strengthen their nursing career is eligible to apply.

Summer full-time work placements (37.5 hours per week) starting in June (11 weeks) and July (8 weeks) are offered to eligible nursing students who have successfully completed at least one year of a recognized Bachelor of Nursing or Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Diploma program.

Program is subject to change based on budget approval.

What is the deadline to apply?

Applications open February 4 til March 8, 2019.

What do I need to complete the online request form?

In addition to your current contact information, you will be asked to provide:

  • The name of your health care facility and worksite/department;
