Request for the Supply of Utility Grade Turbines ;

Notes:

The Prince Edward Island Energy Corporation (PEIEC) is a Crown Corporation of the Province of Prince Edward Island (Province of PEI), created by an order of the Lieutenant Governor in Council, with a mandate to develop and promote energy systems on an economic and efficient basis, and to coordinate all government programs in the establishment and application of energy systems in the Province. The PEIEC owns and operates two utility grade wind facilities within the Province of PEI with a combined generating capacity of 40.56 Megawatts (MW). With a planned commissioning date of on or before December 31, 2012, the PEIEC is seeking proposals for the supply of utility grade turbines for another 30 MW wind facility. Due to land restrictions, the turbines for the proposed site must have a nameplate generating capacity of 2.0MW or greater. The selected turbine manufacturer will have demonstrated that their product will operate at a high level of availability and reliability within the climatic and wind regimes of eastern Canada. A Request for Proposals (RFP) package has been developed and will be made available through the PEIEC's consultant (Frontier Power Systems) to competent and established wind turbine manufactures that offer a line of multi-megawatt models. To receive an RFP package, please direct the request to:
