Winter Walking

Le contenu suivant est seulement disponible en anglais.

Prince Edward Island is a winter wonderland that residents and visitors want to explore when looking for outdoor physical activity. There are many parks, trails and public lands across the province suitable for winter walking, snowshoeing, hiking or cross country skiing.

Most trails outside of the larger municipalities are not groomed. Yet, with a continuous stream of snowshoers to popular spots, a self-groomed trail is broken quickly after each fresh influx of snow.

Use of Confederation Trail

During the winter, the PEI Snowmobile Association leases the Confederation Trail and associated spur line trails from the Province. Thus, walking, snowshoeing and/or cross-country skiing is not permitted on the trail. This is in effect until March 31, unless otherwise notified.

Exception: Sections of the Confederation Trail within the city limits of Summerside and Charlottetown are not leased and available for walking during the winter months.
