Positive Parenting from Two Homes is a cost-free program that provides information to parents who are separating, divorcing, or parenting from two homes.

As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Positive Parenting from Two Homes program is now available online

How do I complete the program online?

  1. Download the instructions and questionnaire
  2. Read the handout:Positive Parenting from Two Homes
  3. Follow the Nova Scotia online module.
  4. Send your completed questionnaire by email to jamacswain@gov.pe.ca.

What do parents learn in the program?

Parents learn to understand their own feelings and their children’s needs during program information sessions. They also learn about developing a business-like relationship with the other parent. Individual situations are not discussed but facilitators are available during breaks and at the end of sessions for one-on-one consultations. Confidentiality is maintained during the sessions and consultations.

How are the sessions delivered?

Information sessions are presented as two 3 hour sessions (one week apart) by trained facilitators.

Who can take this program?

If you are in the process of separating or divorcing, or if you are co-parenting from two separate homes, you may be eligible for this program. Program coordinators screen participants for the program and ensure that your co-parent is not in the same group.
