After you receive your Confirmation of Permanent Residence from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), you must physically come to Canada to officially land and become a permanent resident.

What should I do when I get to Canada?

You must physically present yourself to the Office of Immigration in Prince Edward Island within 30 days of landing in Canada, according to the Agreement you signed with the Province.

What should I expect when I arrive in PEI?

If you are arriving by air, you will be flying into the Charlottetown Airport (YYG).  Our airport may be smaller than some you are used to, so the below video will help you know what to expect.

What are the next steps?

You will want to consider where you want to live, and if you want to purchase or lease a property.

You may decide to purchase a vehicle for your family.

When should I start my business?

You have two years from the date you land to start your business.  More information about timelines and helpful resources can be found in our Newcomer Entrepreneur's Guide [1.2 Mb].

When will my escrow deposit be refunded?

The timelines and requirements of the refund of your escrow deposit are outlined in the Agreement that you signed with the Province.
