Shoreline Design Inc. continues to produce world class artisan jewelry and gifts that are enjoyed by both visitors and Islanders alike, while successfully expanding their product line to meet increased demand, says Minister of Economic Development and Tourism Heath MacDonald.

“Shoreline Design continues to exceed expectations while producing high quality products. Peter and his team are committed to producing Island made jewelry and giftware that evoke memories for both tourists and Islanders,” said Minister MacDonald. “This strategic investment will allow this business to build capacity, increase efficiencies, and help develop innovative and beautiful products. Our Government remains committed to supporting small and medium enterprises and looks forward to the continued success of this fine Island business from rural Prince Edward Island."

Overlooking the picturesque Georgetown Harbour, Shoreline Design Inc is an artisan studio that encompasses silver and goldsmith work, sculptures, vitreous enameling, lapidary, and leather works. Visitors are able to experience true craftsmanship at the studio as all products are handcrafted and made on-site.

Shoreline Design Inc has experienced continuous growth over the past number of years and has been working hard to meet the demand for their products. Through Innovation PEI’s Capital Acquisition Assistance program, a $10,000 grant was awarded to the company to purchase new casting equipment, a new 3D printer, and associated software to allow for the creation of new jewelry designs and products. Both pieces of equipment will allow the company to grow its product line, improve operating efficiencies and product quality, and increase sales.

Additionally, Shoreline Designs has begun a new branding initiative with the assistance of an Innovation PEI marketing grant of $2,000.  Based on market research and web presence effectiveness, a new website was launched which includes updated content and mobile user friendly features. This initiative has created two new positions within the company and has continued to drive sales via online orders.

While many of Shoreline Designs’ products are now shipped off-Island, visitors from around the world come to Georgetown to see Shoreline Designs’ creations, all contributing to both the local and provincial economy.

“Innovation PEI’s contribution towards the cost of our new production equipment will help us keep up with the phenomenal demand for our Island made products both, here and internationally,” said owner and operator of Shoreline Design Inc, Peter Llewellyn.”With 300% growth over the last 3 years and 2016 already exceeding last year, we can't help but look forward to a bright future right here in Georgetown.”

Innovation PEI is focused on accelerating economic development in Prince Edward Island by investing in people, innovation, and infrastructure.
